About the Cottage

The Cottage is a self-contained, pet friendly and relaxing place to stay north of Portland in Victoria adjoining the Cobboboonee Forest Park. The Cottage is located a short drive from the pristine beaches of the Discovery Coast with its great fishing, surfing and endless walks for your dog and beautiful bush trails to ride your horse.

Blackwood Cottage is fully self-contained accommodation which has a large fully fenced secure yard for your dog.  The Cottage is 2 bedrooms which caters for up to 5 adults also being suitable for families.
A secure horse yard adjoins the Cottage.

The Cottage is part of 18.5 acres hobby farm. Simply open the farm gate and you can explore more than  27000 Ha of beautiful bush and forest with its wildlife. Try bush-walking, horse riding, mountain biking or watching the local wildlife. The famous Great South West Walk is just only a 10 min walk away with its Cubby’s camp.

The cottage provides a restful and comfortable a home away from home blending in with the natural surrounds.  There are native trees and two wildlife corridors expanding from the Forest Park into the farm attracting Koalas, Wallabies, Kangaroos and Birds.  Eagles  are often seen in the area hunting for rabbits. Kangaroos visit the property early mornings and at dusk. There are Emus, Echidnas, Possums and others in the adjoining forest.

Recreational options include bushwalking on the Great Southwest Walk, trail riding through the adjoining Cobboboonee Forest and nearby beaches.  From the Cottage you can directly access the forest without having to cross any roads.
